The Adaptation Futures conference is an arena for gathering the global community working on all different aspects of climate change adaptation. Titled Dialogues for Solutions and for the first time taking place on the African continent (in Cape Town), this year’s conference put an accent on the need and possibility for adaptations in the Global South. The conference gathered over 1300 scientists, practitioners, business leaders and policymakers from around the world.

The accelerating changes in the Arctic, their influence on the mid-latitudes and the related adaptation needs should not however be omitted from such a dialogue. For this occasion, we shared what the APPLICATE project’s user engagement team learned about community adaptation practices in the Arctic and the role of climate services in supporting adaptation decisions. Dragana Bojovic had a presentation titled A Changing Arctic – Dialogues from the North at the Community based adaptation session.
